Mcintosh has lounge areas on the second and third floors equipped with a kitchenette and furniture. The student committee is active and accessible and arranges a variety of student led social events throughout the year including hall quizzes sports events beach games and more. It includes single and double rooms as well as a two bedroom single sex or coed apartment for four students. Mcintosh is located in a cluster of residence halls near the kirkland glen on the south side of campus.

Due to the fact that mcintosh used to be several different buildings with different floor plans a floor is shorter than any other floor and has rumours of being haunted. Mcintosh is a catered hall and is renowned for the quality of its food. Located 600 feet from the world famous old golf course mcintosh hall benefits from a central location in st andrews. Other facilities offered at the property include a vending machine.
